The rock n’ roll daddy has done passed on….
I’m a bit thrown off today. I just heard Lux Interior from The Cramps had passed away this morning. How terribly sad. I started to think of the first time I heard about the Cramps. A cute punk rock boy in my ninth grade math class asked me if I had any Cramps. My face flushed bright red not knowing what to say. He said “no no the band!” then proceeded to show me a flyer. After this initial introduction I saw a video for Bikini Girls with Machine Guns and was hooked after that. Stay Sick was the first album I owned by them. They are one of the few bands from my teenage years that still get me excited when I listen to them and getting to see them perform live was always a great time. Their colored vinyl hasn’t left the record player this evening. Goodbye creature from the black leather lagoon thank you to you and Poison Ivy for all the music.
